Kerr Wildlife Management Area Walk – 03/22/2014

The Kerrville Trailblazers are hosting this event in Hunt, Tx.  The walk is on a paved road through the Wildlife Management Area. This walk is slightly hilly and considered easy.  This venue offers beautiful views of the Guadalupe River & is representative of the Edwards Plateau habitat of Texas.

Start/Finish point and registration will be at Management Office at 2625 Fm 1340, Hunt, Tx

START TIME: 8:00-12:00 AM.  Must be finished by 3:00 PM.

This is a Volksmarching event and you need to register to get a start card. We request a $3.00 donation to help defray the cost of hosting the event.  There will be a 5K and 10K option.

This is not a speed event. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.

When you finish (anytime before 3:00 PM) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.

Directions to Walk Location: From IH-10 take Exit 508 at Kerrville. Turn left on SH 16 South (Sidney Baker St.), go 2.5mi to SH 27 & turn right toward Ingram & drive about 6 mi. At the 2nd traffic light in Ingram bear left onto SH 39W, go another 6 mi to Hunt then turn rt on FM 1340. Drive on 1340 about 12 mi until you get to the entrance of the Kerr Wildlife Management area on the right.
