Comfort, Tx Walk (5k/10K) Sat Apr 19th

Hill Country Volkssportverein is hosting this Easter Event.  The walk routes are out on country roads.  I’m not sure if the route is exactly the same as it was in 2010, but we did the event back then if you’d like to look at some pictures to get an idea of the walk.  http://www.walktx.org/2010/Comfort/index.html

Start/Finish point and registration:  Comfort Community Park at the corner of 5th and Main, Comfort, TX

START TIME: 8:00-Noon.  Must be finished by 3:00 PM.

This is a Volksmarching event and you need to register to get a start card. We request a $3.00 donation to help defray the cost of hosting the event.  There will be a 5K and 10K option.

This is not a speed event. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.  Especially since there are Easter Eggs hidden along the route – one per participant please!

When you finish (anytime before 3:00 PM) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.

Directions to Walk Location:  From the West, exit I-10 at 523, turn right onto Hwy 87, following it to the intersection with Hwy 27. At that “Y”, stay right and follow Hwy 27 several blocks to the park on your left. From the East, exit I-10 at 524, crossing over the interstate to your left, and following Hwy 27 through town until you reach the park on your left.

A food concession will be available at the start/finish point serving breakfasts, hamburgers and baked good.  Always a good time for fellowship in the pavilion!
