Peacock Walk – Dallas – June 1

The Dallas Trekkers are hosting 5k and 10k walks in the White Rock Lake area of Dallas this Saturday.

You are required to register at the start. Registration costs $3.00. You will carry a start card with you and at checkpoints your card will be marked.

You can register anytime between 7:30-10:30 AM.  Usually the start is 8-11 but due to the heat index we figured everyone would like the opportunity to start while it was cooler.

This is not a speed event. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.

When you finish (anytime before 1:30 PM) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.

Start Point: Lake House (White Rock) Bar & Grill, 7510 E Northwest Hwy, Dallas, 75214

Driving Directions:   From US-75 (North Central): Take exit 5A Loop 12/Northwest Hwy east for 2.5 miles. Lake House Bar & Grill on the right just before intersection with W Lawther.  Parking is limited, try to carpool or take DART (Blue line) to the White Rock, then east on Northwest Hwy to start point (extra 1K credit if walking from DART).

Hope to see you there!
