The Colorado River Walkers Club is hosting this event. Violet Crown is made up of the Central Austin neighborhoods of Crestview and Brentwood. These communities were established on dairy and cotton farmland in the 1940’s. Returning G.I.’s bought small 2 or 3 bedroom bungalows after WWII. The active community has kept many things unchanged.
The walk route will be along tree-shaded streets and participants will enjoy a step back in time. Of special interest is the 120 ft. long mural, “Wall of Welcome”, which depicts local persons and places.
Start/Finish point and registration will be at Crestview United Methodist Church, 1300 Morrow Street; Austin TX.
START TIME:7:30-11:00 AM. Must be finished by 2:00 PM.
This is a Volksmarching event and you need to register to get a start card. We request a $3.00 donation to help defray the cost of hosting the event. There will be a 5K and 10K option.
