Castroville to host its 10th Annual Volksmarch

The Castroville Chamber of Commerce is hosting this event.  You are invited to take a “Walk Back In History”.  The Landmark Inn State Historic Park will be having their Pioneer Days Event…so check it out.

The walk route includes  a 1 mile walk through beautiful Castroville Regional Park. Several other points of interest will be along the route including historical homes, the scenic Medina River, and the Steinbach House which was relocated from Alsace France and much more!

Start/Finish point and registration will be at Castroville Area Chamber of Commerce, 1115 Angelo Street, Castroville, TX

START TIME:  8:00-11:30 AM.  Must be finished by 2:30 PM.

This is a Volksmarching event and you must register and carry a start card.  We request a $3.00 donation to help defray the cost of hosting the event.  There will be a 5K and 10K option.

Directions to Walk Location:  From San Antonio go West on US-90. The Start Point is about 14 miles from Loop-410 (San Antonio) and about 10.7 miles from Loop-1604. After crosssing the bridge over the Medina River continue to the blinking yellow caution light and turn RIGHT. Go two blocks to Houston Square where there is ample parking. The walk to and from the Starting Point is included in the walk distances.

If you are interested in collecting a stamp for doing this event there will be “New Walker Packets” for sale at the start. They cost $5.00 but they contain three walk coupons inside worth $3.00 each so it is a bargain.
