Duck Creek Trail 5K/10K on Jan 4th

Masthead_rev

The Dallas Trekkers are hosting this event in Richardson.  The 5K route will parallel Huffhines Creek and Duck Creek on paved trail.  It will turn back into residential neighborhoods and wander through Huffhines Park before returning to the start.

The 10K splits from the 5K to turn North and follow Owens Trail out and back with a short jaunt through a neighborhood park.  It then meets back up with the 5K route to return to the start.

To participate in either of the walking events you are required to register at the start.  Registration is anytime from 9:00 am – until Noon.  Registration costs $3.00. You will carry a start card with you and at checkpoints your card will be marked.

This is not a speed competition. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.

When you finish (anytime before 3:00 pm) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

Start Point:  Huffhines Recreation Center, 200 N Plano Rd, Richardson, Tx

Driving Directions:   From Dallas, take North Central (US-75 north), to the Main St (Belt Line) exit, then right (east) approximately 4 miles to Plano Rd. Left (north) on Plano road 1 block to Appolo Rd and the Recreation Center.

Hope to see you there!
