The TVA is hosting two events on the northern edge of the Texas Hill Country. For information on this club you can visit there website at: www.walktexas.org
Make some new walking friends and take walking tours of Hamilton (Hamilton County) and Goldthwaite (Mills County). Walk Hamilton in the morning 8am – 11am and then travel 40 miles south to Goldthwaite and walk there 11:30 – 2:30.
To participate in either of these events you are required to register at the start. Registration costs $3.00. You will carry a start card with you and at checkpoints your card will be marked.
These is not speed competitions. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors. These walks is stroller friendly.
When you finish you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.
If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.
Hamilton Start Point: Pecan Creek Park – corner of Gentry and Railroad, Hamilton.
Driving Directions: From US 281 go east on Gentry two blocks to Railroad Street to the Pavilion in Pecan Creek Park. (Gentry is four blocks north of Main Street where the Hamilton County Courthouse sits).
Goldthwaite Start Point: Mills County State Bank Community Room (Old Post Office) corner of 4th and Parker.
Driving Directions: From US 183 (Fisher Street) go West on 4th Street one block to Parker Street. Community Room is in the NW corner of the intersection.
