Caminada de Fiesta 10K (Ft. Sam Houston)

The Texas Wanderers are hosting this event on Saturday April 12. The Trail will be entirely on historic Ft. Sam Houston and includes Infantry Post.

Start/Finish point and registration will be at U. S. Army Medical Department Museum, 2310 Stanley Road, Bldg. 1046, Ft. Sam Houston, TX

START TIME: 8:30-Noon.  Must be finished by 3:00 PM.

This is a Volksmarching event and you need to register to get a start card. We request a $3.00 donation to help defray the cost of hosting the event.  There will be a 5K and 10K option.

This is not a speed event. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.

When you finish (anytime before 3:00 PM) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.

Directions to Walk Location:  From I-35 north or south bound, exit at Walters St., turn west and travel on Walters to Scott Rd. (Walters becomes Scott at Wilson St.) Turn left on Scofield Rd. and proceed to Stanley Rd. and turn right. Continue on Stanley Rd. to the Medical Department Museum on the corner of Stanley Rd. and Harry Wurzbach. Parking is across the street.
From Loop 410 east or west bound, exit Harry Wurzbach and proceed south to Stanley Rd. to the Medical Department Museum on the corner of Stanley Rd. and Harry Wurzbach. Parking is across the street.
NOTE:  Access to Ft. Sam Houston is controlled through all gates. Individuals without DOD identification cards must display picture identification (such as a drivers license) for the driver and all passengers in the car to enter the post.
