BAY AREA PARK (Houston-Clear Lake) EVENT May 17

All are welcome to join us on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at this event hosted by the Houston Happy Hikers.  Choose a from  a 5K or 10K trail to explore the garden in the Park and the trails of University of Houston at Clear Lake.

Start/Finish point and registration:  Bay Area Park,7500 E. Bay Area Blvd.

START TIME: 8:00-11:00 am.  Must be finished by 2:00 PM.

This is a Volksmarching event and you need to register to get a start card. We request a $3.00 donation to help defray the cost of hosting the event.

This is not a speed event. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.

When you finish (anytime before 2:00 PM) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.

Directions to Walk Location:  Travel I-45 South out of Houston; exit Bay Area Blvd; Follow Blvd to park.
