The Leon Creek Greenway is on a major section of the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trails System. The Leon Creek trail consists of concrete and asphalt surfaces and is 21.7km (13.5mi) in length. It is an integral part of an ever growing network of trails that will one day link the entire city of San Antonio.
Volkssporters will have an opportunity to experience views of limestone bluffs, wildflower fields, stands of beautiful Cottonwoods and other heritage trees. Often wildlife can be seen grazing in the meadows. The trails are easy to walk with only slightly steeper slopes at the O.P. Schnabel Park (CKPT #2) and at the beginning and ending of the walk at the Start & Finish at Leon Vista Trailhead.
This is not a speed event. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors. All are welcome to come walk with us.
Start/Finish point and registration: Leon Vista Park Trailhead, 8561 Rochelle RD, San Antonio TX
