Trinity Forest Volksmarch (Dallas) Sat 03/21/2015

The Dallas Trekkers are hosting a 5k walk and a 10k walk.   Walk starts in at William Blair Jr. Park with beautiful manicured grounds, a fishing pond and a spectacular view of downtown Dallas.  Walk continues over the levee to the Trinity Forest.   The longer 10 km route continues to the Buckeye Trail, returning atop the levee.

To participate in either of these walking events you are required to register at the start.  Registration is anytime from 8 am – until 11 am.  Registration costs a mere $3.00. You will carry a start card with you and at the checkpoints your card will be marked.

This is not a speed competition. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.

When you finish (anytime before 2 pm) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.

Start Point:  William Blair Jr. Park, 3000 Municipal St., Dallas, TX.

Directions:  From I-30 in Dallas, take southbound I-45; take Exit 283B and merge onto US-175 East toward Kaufman; take Municipal St. Exit and turn right on Municipal St.

From 1-20, Exit 479A and merge onto US-175 West toward Dallas; take Railroad Ave Exit and turn left on Railroad Ave; take 1st left toward Municipal St. and then take 1st right onto Municipal St.  Turn into William Blair Jr Park.

Hope to see you there!
