Eagle Pass Walk/Bike Spree – 19-20 Dec 2015

The Whatever of Texas Sporting Club is hosting these events:

  • Maverick County Lake Walk (5/10K options).  Walkers will follow a hike/bike path if they are dong the 5K.  Those doing the 10K will do the hike/bike path and a loop utilizing the canal system near the lake.

  • Fort Duncan Walk (5/10K options).  After registering those who wish to do this event will drive a short distance to another start location.  Both the 5 and 10K routes will wander through downtown Eagle Pass, and by historic landmarks.

  • Maverick County Lake Guided Bike Event.  Riders will follow the same route as the walkers but they can go around for as many times as they like (doing up to 50K).  The route is mostly flat. (You must furnish your own bike).

Start/Finish point and registration will be at Maverick County Lake, 2338 East Main, Eagle Pass, TX.

Lake entrance is on the left past the US277/US57 intersection.  Use either entrance and go left.  Circle the lake counter-clockwise to Table #36 (look for IVV banner).

START TIME: 8:00-1:00.  Must be finished by 4:00 PM.

This is a Volksmarching event and you need to register to get a start card. We request a $3.00 donation to help defray the cost of hosting the event.

You do not have to be a club member to participate.  This is not a speed event. You are encouraged to bring along your children and walk/talk and spend some time together enjoying the great outdoors.

When you finish (anytime before 4:00 PM) you turn in your start card. If you are an official Volkssporter you will have an Event and/or Distance Record Book. When you turn in your start card you will receive a stamp in your record books.

If you do not as yet have an AVA record book, they will be for sale at the start/finish. Just ask for a new walker’s packet. The packet is $5.00 but it contains three coupons for free registration ($9.00 value) as well as both an Event and a Distance book.

Hope to see you there.
